The forum seeked to increase participants' understanding of emerging trends, both in terms of research and development (R&D) and products and services, in the field of applications developed for the management of vehicles, goods and people and the relevant technological infrastructures. The 2007 edition of the event also aimed to encourage the involvement of big companies in the ICT European Technology Platforms in order to enhance the participation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in EU research projects.
